To complete your rental application, you will be asked to provide several supporting documents.
As a tenant, you will need a copy of both sides of your ID (or your residence permit if you are a foreigner), your latest tax notice (or a certificate of non-taxation with proof of affiliation to the tax household), bank details in your name (or a postal statement if you have an account in the euro zone), a current rent certificate or proof of accommodation, a comprehensive home insurance certificate with the exact address of the property and the apartment number, and a passport photo.
Depending on your situation, you may also be asked to provide specific supporting documents: if you are a student, your student card for the current year or your enrollment certificate (front and back); if you are a scholarship recipient, your Crous award notification; if you are an intern, your internship certificate; if you are an employee, your last three pay slips; if you are a researcher, your laboratory internship certificate or agreement (front and back); if you are doing civic service, your volunteer card.
For your guarantor, you will need a copy of both sides of their ID, a copy of their latest electricity, water, or gas bill (or a certificate from their employer if they have company housing), bank details or postal account statement in their name, a copy of both sides of their latest tax notice, and proof of income (e.g., their last three pay slips, their latest tax return, or any document proving sufficient income; for self-employed workers, a simplified balance sheet). You may also be asked to provide notification of benefits and payments made by the CAF, as well as a salary certificate completed by your employer.
